[ Abandonware wagon ]

www.abandonia.com Abandonware is software ( Mostly games ) wich are no longer sold, and so, they became publicly available, until the owning company, if still existing, decides so. Take idSoftware who still charges 20 bucks for the original Doom or Quake. I give 'em five bucks, and I want extras. Some games play right out of the box, but for the most part, the biggest downer of abandonware, is tha u need a bit of plumbing and tinkering with your pc and other software to make the games work. Some games that are cool and play out of the box... Just search for them in your favorite abandonware site, or google them.

And check http://dosbox.sourceforge.net if u want to load older games. Or better yet, some very old, popular games, have been recompiled ( adapted ) to work on winXP.
